essential oils for emotional health

What is your emotional health status?

Going throughout the day without assessing your emotional health, isn't the best choice you can make. We should always take time to notice the effects of stress. Try looking at your relationships. Are the sound? Does anyone close feel a way about you? Ask someone dear to tell you about yourself. We've established some of the ways we can learn more about ourselves. Some times it can be difficult to find the time to reflect. Getting caught up on the day and just wanting to be left alone to flick through the Netflix menu. Take a couple minutes to yourself. Your wellness plays a huge roll in your relationships and daily interactions. Maybe after you gather yourself together, you can entertain your significant other

What is emotional health?

Being healthy emotionally means your have the skills and resources to manage the ups and downs of day-to-day life. Your ability to accept and deal with your feelings through challenge and chance. Chill isn't a word that's constantly heard from peers, and the you aren't easily angered. All of your feelings are digested well, therefore you respond to situations rather than react to them. Emotional health involves your ability to manage and express the emotions that arise from what you have learned and experienced. You should try an assessment to see where you are emotionally. I found this online stress screener that I think would be good for everyone to take.

Why stress is a feeling and not emotion

Why do you think people say they "feel stressed"? It's because our bodies react to the feeling of stress. That tired and don't want to deal with anything attitude will protrude proudly when you are stressed. While some of us can hide an emotion, it can be a challenge to subdue your feelings.

Mental health in America 2020

Many of the positive emotions we're used to feeling are overshadowed by the negative energies the world is currently dealing with. Before 2020, there were all sorts of activities one could do in order to obtain relief from life's experiences. Then the pandemic hit and we all needed to stay home in order to reduce spreading the virus. Covid-19 really crushed any potential for 2020 social gatherings. Staying home more has made families have to deal with issues that could have been pushed off by getting away. Now Americans are having to deal with emotions that were not felt as strong in the past.

The conditions of today have caused spikes in depression and anxiety. When you have to take a break from the news, you know things are really bad. Watching the news when bad can add on serious stress. Considering the stories that are going on today...watching can give someone a nervous breakdown. The increase in violence, disagreements and carelessness for other human beings is where America is today. Nobody is untouchable. Just look at the celebrities and people considered to be "well off". Our young adults have been hit the hardest. Statistics are showing that teens and young adults are more mental issues that their older counterparts.

A majority of Americans ages 18 through 34 — 56% — say they have at least sometimes felt isolated in the past month, compared with about 4 in 10 older Americans, according to the latest COVID Response Tracking Study conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago. Twenty-five percent of young adults rate their mental health as fair or poor, compared with 13% of older adults, while 56% of older adults say their mental health is excellent or very good, compared with just 39% of young adults.

In the midst of the pandemic, young adults are navigating life transitions such as starting college and finding jobs, all without being able to experience normal social activities that might be especially essential for people who are less likely to have already married and started their own families. Some young people are just beginning their adult lives amid a recession, and older members of the group are already experiencing their second.

Can essential oils balance emotional health?

I've been using essential oils for the past 4 months now. It came to me after dealing with depression and anxiety myself. Those two together were the cause of nights where I couldn't get to bed at a decent time. I mean, going to sleep became difficult. Plenty of people suggested I should eat better and workout. I've always kept in decent shape over the years, but I was not prepared to commit to working out. There had to be something that could just instantly change how I was feeling, and I wasn't thinking about taking any drugs.

To begin to understand essential oils, I needed to back in time before modern medicine and the doctors we have today. Pills were not something used centuries and even millenniums ago. People literally utilized natural elements for healing and mental well-being. I thought about how Jesus received gifts of frankincense and myrrh. How the Egyptians used cedarwood and cinnamon for things. It was on from there. I immediately started to look up oils that would help me relax from anxiety and stress. Initially when I first diffused cedarwood, the smell was somewhat overwhelming. Can I tell you one thing thought.....it actually helped calm my nerves. Blood orange did give me an uplifting feeling. As I discovered different oils to use for my emotional health, I began to react to life's situations differently.

It takes indulging in these natural oils to understand something humans have discovered so long ago. Go on a nature walk, close your eyes and breathe the air. Do you feel some sort of relief, does the smell of the trees and plants calm your nerves? Yeah, this same feeling can be felt from oils extracted from the elements. So before you try a more hardcore tactical approach to self healing. Try smelling a fresh fruit, or take a walk in the park. That would be your introduction to essential oils and ultimately a way to manage your emotional health.
